Diamonds We Buy
We buy loose diamonds, diamond engagement rings, diamond tennis bracelets, diamond earrings, diamond pendants, and estate diamond jewelry in all sizes and qualities. Whether you have a single solitaire or a collection of diamond pieces, we evaluate each one and make a fair offer.
We accept diamonds with GIA, AGS, and EGL certifications, as well as uncertified diamonds. GIA-certified diamonds typically command the highest prices because GIA grading is the most widely trusted standard in the industry. If you have a GIA report, bring it along. If you do not, we can still evaluate the stone based on our own assessment.
We accept all shapes: round brilliant, princess, cushion, emerald, oval, pear, marquise, radiant, and Asscher. Round brilliants are the most liquid and typically bring the highest prices relative to their weight and quality.
How Diamonds Are Valued
Diamond value comes down to the four Cs: carat weight, clarity, color, and cut. Carat measures the diamond's weight. Clarity refers to the presence or absence of internal inclusions and external blemishes, graded from Flawless (FL) to Included (I3). Color is graded D (colorless) to Z (light yellow or brown), with colorless commanding the highest prices. Cut refers to how well the diamond was shaped and faceted, which drives its brilliance and sparkle.
Market demand matters too. Certain sizes (1 carat, 1.5 carat, 2 carat) and quality combinations are more sought after. A diamond just below a popular threshold (0.95 carats vs 1.00 carats) may sell for notably less per carat. We evaluate each diamond individually, factoring in all of these variables along with current wholesale conditions, then present an offer reflecting what the diamond is worth today.
Selling an Engagement Ring
We understand that selling an engagement ring can be an emotional decision. Whether the ring comes from a previous marriage, a broken engagement, or an inheritance, we handle every transaction with discretion and respect.
The value of an engagement ring depends on several factors: the size and quality of the center diamond, the metal type and weight of the setting (gold, platinum, or palladium), any accent diamonds or side stones, and the overall brand or designer. Settings from Tiffany, Cartier, Harry Winston, and other luxury brands can carry premiums above their material value.
One reality to be aware of: the resale value of a diamond engagement ring is almost always lower than what was originally paid at retail. Retail jewelry stores mark up diamonds significantly, and the secondary market reflects wholesale pricing. We are upfront about this and will give you a fair number based on current wholesale conditions.
Estate Diamonds and Antique Jewelry
Older diamonds cut in styles such as Old European, Old Mine, rose cut, and transitional cut can carry collector premiums with certain buyers. These cuts are no longer produced and have a character that modern diamonds do not replicate. Art Deco, Edwardian, and Victorian diamond jewelry is sought after by collectors and can be worth more than the sum of its materials.
If you have antique or vintage diamond jewelry, bring it in. We evaluate each piece for both its material value and its potential collector or vintage resale value, and we pay whichever number is higher.
