Sell Silver in Kansas City

    Silver Coins We Buy

We buy silver coins from every era and every mint. This includes American Silver Eagles (1986-present), pre-1965 U.S. silver coins (dimes, quarters, half dollars containing 90% silver), Morgan Silver Dollars (1878-1921), Peace Dollars (1921-1935), Walking Liberty Half Dollars, Franklin Half Dollars, Barber coins, and Kennedy Half Dollars from 1964 (90% silver) and 1965-1970 (40% silver).

We also buy Canadian Silver Maple Leafs, Austrian Philharmonics, Australian Kookaburras and Kangaroos, British Britannias, and other government-issued silver bullion coins. Private mint silver rounds from Sunshine Minting, SilverTowne, and other producers are accepted as well.

If you have bags of unsorted silver coins, we sort, identify, and count everything for you at no charge.

    Silver Bars and Bullion

We buy silver bars from every major refiner in sizes from 1 oz to 100 oz. Engelhard, Johnson Matthey, Sunshine Minting, PAMP Suisse, Royal Canadian Mint, Perth Mint, and Asahi bars are all purchased at competitive rates based on live spot pricing.

Vintage poured silver bars from Engelhard and Johnson Matthey can carry collector premiums above their silver content, especially in certain size and serial number ranges. We evaluate these bars individually rather than pricing them strictly at melt. We also buy silver rounds from private mints.

    Sterling Silver Flatware and Hollowware

Many Kansas City families have inherited sterling silver flatware sets that have been in the family for generations. Brands like Gorham, Towle, Reed and Barton, Wallace, International Silver, Kirk Stieff, and Tiffany produced thousands of patterns, and most of these sets hold real silver value.

Sterling silver is .925 pure silver. To identify sterling, look for a .925 stamp, the word STERLING, or a lion hallmark on the back of each piece. If you see EPNS, silver plate, or similar markings, the item is plated and does not contain solid silver.

Be aware that many sterling flatware pieces are "weighted," meaning they have a steel core inside the handle with silver on the outside. Weighted pieces contain less silver than solid pieces. We weigh both types and price them accordingly, explaining the difference to you. We also buy sterling silver tea services, trays, bowls, candlesticks, water pitchers, and other hollowware items.

    How Silver Is Valued

Silver bullion (bars, rounds, and government coins) is priced based on the current silver spot price. For pre-1965 U.S. silver coins, the standard calculation is face value multiplied by a factor reflecting the current spot price. A $10 face value bag of pre-1965 quarters contains approximately 7.15 troy ounces of silver.

Sterling silver flatware and jewelry is valued by weight and purity (.925). We weigh everything on certified scales and calculate the silver content, then apply the current spot price.

Some silver coins and flatware patterns carry collector premiums. Key-date Morgan dollars, rare mint marks, and sought-after flatware patterns can be worth more than their silver content. We check for these and pay accordingly.
